“And like every film, is the story told by white people? Guys for Christ’s sake, enough with that. I’m the one telling this story! See that girl? Hot as  f%$k? Leo with Aquarius rising? Yes, that’s me. Marcela Jesus. 17 Years Old. Public school student. Nice to meet you.”

Students in São Paulo, Brazil throw themselves into a developing political movement, occupying their schools in opposition to the planned reorganization of the nation’s public high school system. As the police response to their actions becomes more violent, Brazil witnesses the birth of a far-right nationalist regime. Winner Amnesty International Film Award for human rights and the Independent Peace Film Prize at Berlinale 2019.
