24th Junior Film Fleadh Tuesday 6th - Saturday 10th, November 2018
The Junior Film Fleadh is the young people’s arm of the prestigious Galway Film Fleadh. Now in its 24th year, this years event sees the festival running for 5 days from Tuesday 6th to Saturday 10th of November.
The festival is curated with young people in mind. We screen feature and short length fiction and documentary cinema in English, Gaeilge, French, German and Spanish along with hosting filmmaking workshops. Curriculum supporting cinema screens early in the day, with young adult cinema screenings happening in the evening. Screenings are open to all, individual tickets may be purchased from the box office in the Pálás cinema once the programme is announced. Those interested in group bookings should drop us an email.
We also run an outreach programme where we bring some of the cinema we programme for the festival into the classroom. Like our big sister festival, the Galway Film Fleadh, the Junior Fleadh is a festival for discovering new talent and a hub for those who enjoy the art of cinema.

Have a few hours to spare to help us run Galway’s premiere youth cinema event? Start here.
We are committed to safeguarding the wellbeing of children and young people while they are participating in events run by or on behalf of JFF. We adhere to the recommendations of Children First: National Guidelines for the Protection and Welfare of Children, published by the Department of Heath and Children. We operate a code of good practice for all our staff, tutors and volunteers.
Our outreach programme brings language-focused, cinema-based workshops to your classroom. Running between October and November outside of our main event, these workshops are designed to help in gaining a practical grasp of a studied language.
On the Saturday of our festival, we curate a series of workshops for students designed to teach some of the fundamentals of cinema.
Early booking is advised.
